This Week’s Favorite Things

April 19, 2018

Here are a few things I’m enjoying this week.

Podcast: I am a podcast addict. I read a lot, but I don’t really do audiobooks because I have trouble concentrating on them. Podcasts are easier for me because I don’t feel like I have to pay attention every second to make sense of things. The podcast that got me hooked was Gilmore Guys. I am a huge Gilmore Girls fan, and when I heard about this podcast I had to give it a try. Kevin and Demi are two guys who decided to watch all of Gilmore Girls and then do a podcast episode for each episode of the show. Kevin had already watched most of Gilmore Girls and was a huge fan, while Demi had never seen the show. An awful lot of the podcast is just the two of them goofing off and talking to their friends about the show, but by the end of the run the podcast became so popular they are able to interview several members of the cast and crew. Ultimately, these two guys were extras on the Netflix season of Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life. When I saw them on TV it was like I was watching my friends! Anyway it’s a lot of fun, and if you do love Gilmore Girls you should definitely check it out. And if you’ve never watched Gilmore Girls, what are you waiting for? Check it out on Netflix!

Recipe: Chicken Stir-Fry with Peanut Sauce is a regular in our weekly rotation. Easy to make and everyone in the family likes it. That’s rare!

Book: Currently reading The Vanishing Act of Esme Lennox. It’s about a woman who discovers she has a great-aunt that she never knew about. Told from several different perspectives. So far I’m really liking it. To see what else I’m reading, follow me on Goodreads.

Clothing: I was up early to take my son to a track meet, so I made it to Target before they opened on Saturday. I wanted to check out their collaboration with Hunter, the brand that makes those popular rain boots. I work on a college campus, so I see these boots everywhere. Of course, they are quite expensive, so I wanted to see if I could get may hands on a cute, short navy pair I had seen on the Target website. Unfortunately, our Target didn’t even get shipped most of the boots, and they sold out online right away. I  did pick up this cute, striped pullover for myself and rain jackets for the boys. May have to keep checking the website to see if those boots are ever available. Did any of you check out the Hunter collection at Target?
